Sentry's version(CA756) of Texas Instruments Graphing Calculator Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I ordered this Sentry Graphing Calculator because of it's claim of "Compare to TI-83 calculator". I'm taking a Statistics class and this calculator is nothing like the TI-83. I was trying to save money, but now I'm going to purchase the TI-84 as previously recommended by my professor in the first place. I shouldn't have to read the manual to figure out which buttons are comparable to the buttons on the TI-83. I received great customer support from this vendor when the calculator went missing in transit, but I'm very dissatisfied with the product I received. Buyer Beware......the saying "You get what you pay for" is right on the money this time !!!

Texas Instruments Inc. TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Pink Graphing Calculator (Extra Purple faceplate) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This model of the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is pink. The color may help ward off theft, but at the very least it is definitely not easy to misplace the calculator.
From the TI site you can find comparison charts, and for high school here are the main additions that the Silver Edition has over the regular TI-84 Plus:
It is for Precalculus, Chemistry, and Geometry. This has more memory and a few other bells and whistles, but the deciding factor may be if you are in one or all three of those classes. This also comes with downloadable SAT and ACT test questions to help a person prepare for those.
For the price, if you're considering this being used at least one year in high school and 4+ years of college, it's about $20-30 a year for one of the most helpful tools a student needs. Two thumbs up!

Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphing Calculator (Pink) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I absolutely love this calculator. I used to have the Ti83 silver but then I decided to upgrade. This calculator has more space and well, it's pink. Not really a math person, everytime I walk into the math class room and take it out, it just brightens my mood. This calculator is easy to use, and very practical. You can use it for your highschool and college classes, and also for standardized test like the SATS. More memory is helpful because you can store more custom made applications. The silver edition lets you change faceplates as well so if you ever get tired of the pink, just pop it off and switch the plate. I love this calculator, and i guarentee you will be happy with your product.

Texas Instruments TI-73 Graphing Calculator Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Well....this calculator has many features for middle school students, but really is it worth it ? If you're in middle school, then you probably won't need such an expensive calculator, because you really don't need to use a calculator to graph. If you are learning graphing, you might not be able to use it one the test. In my opinion, I would buy one of those cheaper plainly scientific calculators. They get the job done and they are cheaper. But, if you really want to get a graphing calculator, I would suggest the TI-83 plus. Right here on Amazon.com, it being sold at $86.99, CHEAPER than this one and with more functions!!!!!!

(More customer reviews)Got this one for high school after already owning the TI-89. I got this one because it can be used on more tests than the TI-89, but I was spoiled by the TI-89. There are times when I go back to the TI-89 because it can do more kinds of problems.

Texas Instruments TI-84 Special Edition Graphing Calculator (Dark Pink) Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great calculator. The keys are the same as the TI 83 but the calculator has more to offer than the TI 83. This one does so much more. You can put real games on this one, you can store formulas on it and you can make your own study cards, you write a question then enter the answer and the calculator will help you study and it does much much more. I got it at my local store cheaper than they sell it here on Amazon. So you might want to check around before putting out this much. My calculator was the talk of the class in a good way, all the girls wanted to know where I got it.

Texas Instruments TI-83-Plus Silver Edition Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you are a high school student, then this calculator is for you. It has everything you need, for algebra, precalculus, and calculus. The good thing about the 83+ is that it is upgradable, so the need for a new calculator doesn't arise, every few years. Purchasing a graph-link can add on a TREMENDOUS amount of programs to use for Physics, Geometry, and even 3D-Graphs, (previously only on the ti-89 and up). If you are in High School, do NOT get the ti-92 or ti-89, because they will probably be banned from standardized tests, and high math classes, so ask your math teacher, because they are too hard to use and understand. Also, these 2 calculators are aimed for more college-level students, so if you are in college, try the ti-89. But in every case, a ti-83+ is ideal!

Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I am on my third TI-83+ (my first two were stolen). My brother owns an 84, and I can tell you that it offers nothing that the 83 doesn't have. Many of the preloaded apps are useless (an address book? please!), and take up so much space that the memory increase is worthless. The 84 is a continuation of TI's tendency to offer huge amounts of style with little or no substance. I prefer the 83 for its streamlined design. The one improvement is that the slip cover on the 84 does not become loose with a great deal of use, which is a problem I have encountered with my three 83s. It looks as though the USB connectivity could be a plus (for the 83, you had to buy a separate connectivity kit to connect to a PC), however, most buyers will not need to connect their calculator to their PC.
