The thing goes to sleep constantly - to save battery power of your laptop I suppose - but this feature is very annoying if you use a 10-key a lot. The device also constantly freezes up - I find I have to stick the end of a paper clip into the 'reset' hole on the back of the device several times a week. The keys are also stiff - you have to hit them hard, which makes it easy to miss numbers if you are typing quickly. I am ready to throw mine away and try something else.

(More customer reviews)I've tried multiple sets of brand new batteries, repositioning the PC in relation to the keyboard and mouse, moving the USB transmitter - all to no avail.
No matter what I've tried productivity is seriously affected by slow or no response from the mouse. I bought this to replace a wireless set I had that plugged into the mouse and keyword ports. It worked great until I just wore it out.
I wanted the padded keyboard and like the shape of this mouse. If only I could get it to work accurately and consistently.

Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser Review

(More customer reviews)My install of this system went fairly smoothly, but it is an amazingly lengthy process, with many stages involving updates and bluetooth reconnects and such. Still, it all worked out and it never left me wondering if I was doing the right thing or not, unlike many hardware/software installations.
The keyboard, mouse and pad have all worked pretty well for me, and the media pad shows great promise as a home theater controller, but I have a couple of quibbles:
1) the mouse charging station is a piece of junk relative to the rest of the system - it's tippy, you have to fiddle to feel that the mouse is making contact, and the power cable easily falls out
2) the keyboard, on waking up, often repeats (many times) one of the characters you type in
3) I _suspect_ the software of periodically bogging my PC down, though I don't know that for sure yet
4) I can assign the keyboard media button to bring up iTunes (and other applications), but the media pad media buttong is not given the same choices for some reason.
Overall I'm very impressed with this, but I AM COUNTING ON LOGITECH to improve the software such that it sees its full potential.

Logitech diNovo Cordless Desktop Review

(More customer reviews)I have had this cordless set for several days now. Here are my thoughts:
First the bad news. There could be better quality control on this. The first unit I purchased had a right-arrow key that would not work properly (all other keys worked fine). Another reviewer of this model here said that the space bar did not work properly on their unit. I liked everything else so much, I returned mine and got another unit, which is now working properly. The only other negatives I can mention are: (a) the temperature on the numeric keypad ALWAYS reads 77 degrees; (b) the Media key on the numeric keypad always seems to launch the default media player, no matter what I set it to (the media key on the full keyboard works fine).
Now the good news. I love the sleek look and modular design of this set, and it happens to match my HP Pavillion Notebook perfectly. I love the small USB receiver. I love the profile and tactile feel of the flat keyboard. I love the features that let you use this both on a desktop (in my case a docking station) or on the road with your laptop. The mouse is the least sexy of the three main parts, but nevertheless works well and the off switch is a nice feature; its main appeal is that it can be used on the desktop and as a portable laptop mouse. The wireless USB reciever, while small (a good thing), still has a very sufficient range.
All in all, this set has solved a number of problems for me and I strongly recommend it. Just be sure to check ALL the keys, etc. immediately when you get it and exchange it for another unit if any of the keys do not respond.

Logitech Compact Keyboard K300 (Black) Review

The primary feature of course is provided in the name of the keyboard. Logitech attempts to differentiate the K300 by offering a compact size for those who would benefit from the size reduction. My review makes some comparisons to my regular keyboard, the Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard.
PROS:
- Small footprint
- Relatively thin
- Attractive design
- Reasonably comfortable with good feedback
- Layout relatively consistent with standard keyboards
- All F-keys work without software installation
- FN key on each side of space bar
- Spill-resistant design (only 2 ounces of liquid)
- Appropriate value
- Quality construction
- 3 year warranty
CONS:
- Small palm rest
- Backlit F-keys serve no purpose and waste energy
- Small design and altered layout can hamper expert typists
INSTALLATION
Installing the K300 was extremely simple. I just plugged it into a free USB port directly to my PC. Within a couple of minutes, my PC recognized the new peripheral and the F-key row lit up orange. I don't usually like to install drivers for my mice or keyboards so I declined to install SetPoint. To my delight, all the F-keys functioned appropriately without having to have SetPoint installed. To my knowledge, the only function required by SetPoint is setting custom F-keys.
LAYOUT
The key layout is not as drastically different as I would have expected from a compact keyboard. They left enough room for a full-size number pad. To save space on this keyboard, Logitech eliminated the standard arrow keys and Del/Home/End/PgUp/PgDn keys and reallocated them to other areas on the keyboard. The Home/End/PgUp/PgDn keys have been placed at the top of the number pad. The Insert and Delete keys are on the same row as the F1-12 keys and the arrows are located under the right Shift key. The Ctrl keys on both side of the space bar are shrunken as is the
space bar itself. This was necessary in order to fit the miniature arrow keys as well as 2 FN keys. The Illuminated Keyboard only has 1 FN key on the right side of the space bar, which made it difficult to operate it with one hand when trying to reach all the way to the left side of the F-key row. Now with FN keys on both side, it is much easier to perform a one-handed F-key operation. The layout works. It gets a little getting used to where Logitech moved the other keys to, but relearning them should not take too long. The only real annoyance in my opinion, are the itsy bitsy arrow keys.
COMFORT
Given the compact nature of this keyboard, you might expect it to be uncomfortable to type on, but on the contrary, it is at least adequate for long typing sessions. The keys are very soft with good feedback. It is also very quiet so for those of you who have spouses that stay up late on their computer, fear not. Now you only need to figure out how to dim the giant night light they stare at. The integrated palm rest is quite small and my small hands barely rest on them. Logitech advertises that the ultra-flat design shifts your wrists toward a more neutral position, yet includes height adjustable feet that would counteract this neutral position. If anything, the adjustable feet should be at the bottom of the keyboard, not the top, in order to further create a neutral position. All things considered, I can type very well and comfortably on the K300 but also bear in mind that I am used to the laptop-style keys on the Illuminated keyboard. Now that I have gotten used to these type of keys, I prefer them over the standard keys on most keyboards today and are more comfortable than any laptop keyboard I have ever used.
MISCELLANEOUS
At first glance, I thought the K300 was backlit. The F-keys are brightly lit orange and the space between the keys are also orange. Hah! An illusion to my eyes. The space between keys on most keyboards are black or match the keys. The K300 uses an orange background so in photos, it appears it is backlit. It does make for an attractive look, but this is not an illuminated keyboard. Which brings me to the backlit F-keys. Why? If it were dark and you needed to see anything, I'd think you'd want to be able to see the QWERTY layout, not the rarely used F-keys. Additionally, you would think if they went to those lengths, Logitech would have also decided to backlight the actual FN key that activates the F-keys. Nope. I think the backlight on the K300 is just eye candy and serves no useful function. In fact, I wish it didn't have it at all as I am becoming more conscientious of devices in my home that use unnecessary energy.
The K300 lists spill-resistant design, but recommends only 60ml of liquid spillage as the maximum. This is about 2 ounces so if you spill even half your can of soda on it, you can forget it.
The K300 is certified for Microsoft XP/Vista and is USB-only.
SUMMARY
The K300 is a fairly priced, corded compact keyboard. If space savings outweigh the altered layout, then you may want to give the K300 a try. Many compact keyboards are typically used in server racks and can get quite expensive or are very cheap and not worth the investment. The K300 is geared more for the home user and has the comfort and convenience to match. If space is not an issue however, go with a non-compact keyboard, like the Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard.

(More customer reviews)I work in a dark room at night, while my spouse sleeps. Occasionally I need to hit a letter, function, number or some special key like "[". Being the poor typist that I am, this usually requires either trial and error or worse turning the light on enough for me to read the keys. The older I get, the more light is required to actually see the keys.
My search was for a well built backlit keyboard to help prevent my need for any other light source. There is another model the Microsoft Sidewinder X6 that seemed interesting, however on a search this model was available for pre-order and seemed interesting.
My need is not as a gamer, just a sometimes past bedtime typer. This keyboard comes with software from Microsoft and on the USB cable over the USB connector there is a piece of cardboard that says to install the software CD first. When opening the box, the CD wasn't noticed by me. However it was there. It installs Microsoft Intellitype. Which seems to do something for my PC, what I have no idea.
After software install on Windows XP, my old keyboard was unplugged and this new keyboard was put in. It has worked out very well. The color is a solid red, and it is easy on the eyes. This is an extended 102 / 103 key keyboard (it has some extra keys). There is a non-detachable numeric pad. There is also a non-detachable hand rest.
While the hand rest is comfortable, it would have been nice to have it removable. Space is an issue in the area of my keyboard, and the hand rest uses about 1/3 of the keyboard surface area.
The black for most of the keyboard is glossy, the hand rest is matte and has a textured feel. All keys are lit, with the exception of the space bar. The space bar isn't hard to find even in the dark as its a large area flanked by lit keys.
Only the tops of the keys glow, there is no light leakage on the sides of the keys or on the base of the keyboard. A choice of color would have been nice. Red isn't bad, I'd have preferred blue.
Some keyboards have a key to orient your hand for touch typists (usually a physical bump on the letter "J" if I recall correctly). This allows you to orient yourself to the QWERTY keyboard without looking. Unfortunately all keys are the same, and you must learn by use which key is where.
This keyboard is a bit louder than other keyboards. I do not much care for the noise. During long periods of typing, my thumbs seem to get a bit sensitive to the space bar. Overall when typing longish posts (like this review) my fingers get more tired on this keyboard than on my very old basic dell keyboard.
There are 6 keys labeled S1-S6 along the left side. Additionally there is a menu key on the lower right of the main keyboard close to the space bar. These are non-standard keys. What the S keys do I have no idea, the menu key seems to work like the right click button. Unfortunately hitting it a 2nd time doesn't undo the right click (it doesn't take down the menu).
There are also multi-media keys, for play / pause, skip fast forward, sound up and sound down also mute. There is a key that changes a light from one of 3 positions, I suspect its related to the game capability of this keyboard. There is also a key to set the light intensity. There are 3 levels of light plus and off, you change from one to the other by repeatedly hitting the light button. A final non-standard button is the calculator button, which launches the Microsoft calculator.
Overall it is a well made keyboard, a detachable hand rest would have been nice. My hope is over time the sensitivity to the space bar will decrease. Most of the extra keys are useless to me. I do really appreciate how well lit this is, and how there seems to be no bleed through of light between the keys.
I'm happy. Amazon sold this at a lower price than it is listed at today. Today it is listed at $59.99, my price was $45.10. For $45.10 this was a very good purchase in my opinion. With any luck as this device becomes a bit more mature the price will settle down.

(More customer reviews)I bought this keyboard as a replacement for the original one came with my HP computer which is a USB wireless. I liked the original one but it can't be used with rechargeable AA for a long time. I had to keep recharging constantly. And I didn't like the idea of wasting throw away batteries.
This new keyboard is just as compact and light as the original, it's a minimalist's dream. Key stroke is very quiet and requires very short stroke kind of like using a notepad keyboard. Plug & play operation is extremely trouble free, you'll need no instruction at all. Some of the photos I have seen showing PS2(old type connection) adaptor included but mine didn't include it, which wasn't an issue for me. There's a special key for "calc" but I didn't have a problem starting it in a couple of key strokes, so it's not a big advantage. Another feature is its "spill-resistant design". It's nothing more than a several slits under the keyboard. If you spill water, it may help drying quicker, for anything else, you'll have a hard time getting it clean, probably never completely like any other keyboard.
Over all, I like everything about this keyboard with no negative opinion. Only thing I don't know about it is its durability but from the way I feel, it seems well made and will last for a long time.

Logitech Keyboard K120 Review

(More customer reviews)Finally! A basic keyboard where all the keys are in the right place, the layout is familiar, and my touch-typing fingers don't have to learn anything NEW.
What's with all the wrist rests, bubble shaped gigantic keyboards that take up the whole desk? Give me a basic keyboard that WORKS. Logitech continues the tradition of the basic IBM style keyboards with the logitech K120.
When you're typing for years and years, you get tired of companies switching keys around on you. Some of logitech's other models I had to pass up on because they swapped the Insert/Delete/Page up/Pg DN section and made it vertical. But on this keyboard, everything is proper and right.
The price is right: There's no reason to spend $50 on a keyboard unless you want to use your keyboard 45 feet away from the monitor - which is rather absurd for most uses. (perhaps if you have a 60" LCD TV with your computer hooked up to it). But if you're an old fashioned, sit up close, task-chair (not the dreadful "manager's chair") kind of person, this is the keyboard you want.
It's not fancy. Nothing extra. No wrist rest. No "media keys". No programmable function keys. And thank goodness! The only thing the basic microsoft keyboard has over this is it has the "calculator" button, which would really be cool to have on this. But really, there was nothing wrong with the way keyboards were before, and there's nothing wrong with this one now. I love this keyboard, right out of the box.
It's surprisingly quiet too.
Why did I get this keyboard?
My new netbook (Acer Aspire One) doesn't have any ps/2 ports - which is fine 'cause they're not really used much anymore.
BUT - all of my old keyboards use PS/2 connectors. So while I DID order a PS/2 to USB connector from Amazon - it's going to take a couple of weeks to get here and I didn't want to wait.
And who knows? Perhaps when the connector comes in, my fancy keyboards from yester-years may be overshadowed by this new, basic, no-nonsense, works instantly keyboard that I picked up for $12.

(More customer reviews)This unit is often advertised as MAC compatible. The paperwork said it was also. It's not. All kinds of goofy & entertaining things happen when plugged into a MAC, especially when using Excel for Mac or OSX's calculator. One of the function keys caused the thing to fill EVERY cell in a spreadsheet with zeros. (Thank goodness for Autosave) I tried many workarounds and tips from forums. None worked.
Other than that, it is an OK keypad, considering the low price. It worked fine on the few things I tried it on under Windows XP Pro. The display is very easy to read and the size is of the unit is fine with me. The keys feel OK to the touch and it doesn't miss strokes. But, the orange "On" key is in a stupid spot. This key is used often for switching modes. If this is your only numeric keypad, you would get used to it. Just as we are all used to telephone key pads being upside down- or is it upside up? Never thought about that, did you?- but it is intuitive. You can use a keypad all day, then pick up a phone & dial just fine without thinking. So, you probably would get used to the orange key in an odd spot.
I sent mine back and got a different brand, also not officially MAC compatible but with a simple work-around. (Targus Keypad-Calculator)
Bottom Line? Ignoring the whole MAC thing- For the price it is not great, not bad. Assuming it did work with MAC, I probably would be happy with it (unless the orange key thing kept driving me nuts.)

(More customer reviews)Works great as a calculator; however.... I bought this for my stats class because everything has to be typed into word. There are all the standard math symbols of +, -, *, / but there is NO EQUAL sign! Sure you can hit enter to get the total. But entering in data I have to go back to the keyboard for an = sign. This is in every problem.
So, it works. Not what I hoped though. How can you forget the = sign for goodness sake!
