Royal RC40 40-Pound Shipping Scale Review

Folks, I'm only reviewing this because of the problems people are complaining about with the computer interface. This is used for downloading the latest rates to you scales. It couldn't be any easier if you read the instructions.
Here is the trick... you MUST... I mean ABSOLUTELY MUST have the scale plugged into the wall on the AC adapter and have batteries installed or it will NEVER work.
The next trick is that it takes just a few seconds to download the rates to your computer and then you will need to download (normally this would be called upload) them to your scales.
This is the next TRICK. It takes minutes to download to your scales. Just leave it alone, ignore it and go watch TV for a while until it finishes.
It works EVERY SINGLE TIME... if you follow those two bits of advice, i.e., battery and AC power, then when downloading to scale expect it to take minutes... at least 10 minutes.

Ideal for use in retail locations or office mailrooms, the Royal RC40 digital rate calculator offers a number of useful functions in one sturdy package. With a maximum weight capacity of 40 pounds, this calculator processes shipping rates for U.S. mail, UPS, Airborne Express, and Federal Express, and can connect to the Internet for regular shipping rate updates. The one-touch tare function allows users to reset the scale to weigh the contents of a package without including the weight of the container, which can be especially handy in retail applications. The hold button leaves the weight onscreen after the package has been removed, making the correct reading of weights for oversize packages particularly easy to manage. There are four weight modes on the RC40--ounces only, pounds only, pounds and ounces, or grams--in increments of 0.2 ounce or 5 grams. Royal offers a one-year limited warranty.

Logitech Media Keyboard K200 With One-touch Media and Internet Keys (920-002719) Review

If you're looking for a solid, inexpensive keyboard, it's tough to go wrong with this Logitech unit. It includes basic media control keys, including play/pause (though no track skip - bummer), volume up, down, and mute, as well as keys to launch a browser, an email program, the calculator, and a power button. It's a full-size setup too, with a full number pad, which is a welcome feature.
Action fair to midling, with very little click, which is to be expected in a keyboard in this price range. What isn't necessarily expected is the fact that it's spill-resistant, with channels to direct liquid around the electronic parts and out drain holes. It's also gratifyingly thin, and fits on a pullout keyboard tray easily (something I can't say about my extra-large Microsoft Sidewinder keyboard)
All in all, a good, solid basic keyboard. I don't personally love for the action on it, but it's actually grown on me while typing this review. And then there's this: I'm not using it (well, except to write this). I've given it to my kids, and I can at last be a little less streesed about them drinking juice boxes while they do their homework.
I'd be surprised if there's a better unit at the price point, and can recommend it to any budget-minded computer user in need of a new, solid, basic keyboard. In the under-$20 group, it'd be a five star keyboard, but I dinged it a star for the lack of track skip buttons.

Bluetooth Calculator Keypad Review

Don't waste your money on this. First, it's massively over-priced. It's plastic, not aluminum like the Apple keyboard. It's also larger and taller than the Apple keyboard, so don't expect it to sit perfectly next to your keyboard. The keys do not press nicely like Apple's keyboard so there is a tactile disconnect between the two. Sometimes you have to press a key a few times to get a number into it.
But more importantly, you most likely will not be able to sync it with your computer. The mfg instructions are missing the key elements you need to sync it.
I tried everything I could think of - switching modes, you name it, to get it to sync. I looked online for reviews and saw mostly bad reviews. Reviews that detailed my same problem with no resolution and lots of bad reviews of the keys not working properly. All things I experienced as well.
I took mine back to the Apple store so they could show me how to sync it. They could not sync mine. They opened box after box of this product - none of them synced according to the directions, either. They called in supervisors, tech people, you name it. No one could get any of these to sync.
I got my money back. Later I found out there is *another* set of instructions that might work. Seems the manufacturer decided we shouldn't be privileged to those. I could post them but I have no desire to help a company that is so communicationally challenged that they can't enclose the *complete* instructions for their product.
Again, it's over-priced, I don't think they do a good job with the actual device and they SUCK at helping their own client by not providing clear and complete instructions.
Bottom line: They don't deserve space in the Apple store, much less on your desk.

This wireless numeric keypad doubles as a ten-key for spreadsheets and data entry and as a stand alone calculator. The VP6270 features an LCD display, Bluetooth wireless up to 33 feet and works with both Mac and PC. Calculations computed on the keypad can be sent directly into a spreadsheet just like you typed them. Cut the cord and go wireless. For computers with Bluetooth built in, there is no need for any dongle or cord. For those without, it works perfectly with Interlink Electronics\' Nano Bluetooth Dongle.
