(More customer reviews)My son's middle school requires students to carry 6 or 7 composition books, assorted spirals, and a big heavy text book, as well as an expensive graphing calculator, a compass for geometry, and pencils, pens, etc, BUT they are not allowed to carry bags of any sort, and the school layout and tight scheduling preclude using the locker provided. It's a great lesson for kids in the arbitrary and absurd rules you are sometimes forced to follow. This is the best solution we have found. The 3 ring arrangement is removable, so all of those books can fit better, and there are nice pockets and compartments so that he can find his stuff. It has a removable shoulder strap, too. Admittedly, I bought one in late August and I am in the market to replace it now, as it's starting to die, but we'd gone through 3 or 4 of the less beefy binders we tried last year by this time.
