(More customer reviews)I bought this just because I thought the larger display might be easier to read than the one on my little pocket calculator.
The Royal XE100 does have a few nice features:
the 10 12 digit display
the 00 key to type in hundreds (saves a whole key stroke)
the GT(grand total key)
the mark up key
the last digit delete key. I will actually used this feature. It's nice to be able to delete just the last digit instead of an entire figure, especially one with many digits.
There are three sliding controls on the top of the calculator, the only one I understand is the one turning the grand total function on and off. The calculator comes with no instruction booklet and only the most rudimentary example list on the back of the packaging.
No matter which features any calculator might have, the bottom line for me is the quality of the display. The peel-off fake numbers were crisp and sharply contrasted with the background. For me the actual digital display is disappointing with only average clarity and contrast. Getting the four position, adjustable display set right does help with the visibility.I do like that four different colors are used for the function keys, and the minus key function is red on gray.
On the warranty sheet there is an email address to which one may send questions about the product. I think it's humorous that the user is advised to allow two to three weeks for a response. In that time I'm sure to forget the original question.
