(More customer reviews)I bought this calculator almost thirty years ago at a podunk gas station in Michigan. At that time harvesting solar energy was misunderstood. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that this calculator worked well under (fairly dim) artificial light. So I took this calculator with me in my small backpack of stuff when I traveled about Europe. I unfortunately lost it when I returned. I have been looking for a similar solar powered credit card sized calculator ever since. I was further amazed to find that the same calculator that I had then is still being manufactured now (there's a reason for that). So long as the product has not changed, this calculator does work well in artificial light, but do not expect that it will work in the dark, or proximity (I don't know why anyone would).
